Dreams (03)
The crazy dreams continue...
THERE WERE DREAMS
There were dreams:
Many and varied and adventurous,
With a mud-mine
And purple barbed wire
(far superior to the blue or the pink).
I woke up tired
From fighting and chasing - someone? -
I don’t remember who
Or any of the details,
Except for taking a wrong turn
And ending up skiing down
The black diamond slope in a Hyundai.
Be careful, I said. There’s a speed limit.
SAMOVAR, CHALICE AND TEA CUP
With samovar, chalice and tea cup
The religions of the world united to help us
Escape the spirits of the unquiet dead.
They distracted the spirits while I stole
The samovar, chalice and tea cup
And into the wide, free world I fled.
MY FOOLISH HEART
I dreamed I wanted to be a good guy
With all of my foolish heart,
So I clutched my green beans and leaned
Against the heavy gates.
But they would not open
For the bad guys were with me.
I had been fooled and I’d never get in
Because of my foolish heart.
